i smashed my rear windscreen this morning, so just got off the phone to autoglass. they quoted me £267 for someone to come out and replace.
is this abit extreme? ive never has any windows replaced so dunno what kinda price im looking at.
ive had a look for a tailgate the same colour but cant find anything.
my insurance doesnt cover me for windscreen repairs.

I'm sure you could have got a tailgate had it smoothed and repsrayed for less than £267 but what can you do it gets cold with no windows.

the guy on the phone was dodgy. he kept lowering the price whenever i said 'i would think about it and phone him back'
went from £304 to £242 then to £267 for someone to come out aswell.

I claimed mine through the insurance so it was free (no excess) and someone from autoglass came out to do it. I didn't loose my no claims bonus or anything like that either. I thought that was quite good.

im sure it was a local company (teesside) mate. best bet is to ring around.
it was £140 cash like not involving insurance or anything else so it was very good. i had £200 + with autoglass

Try RAC Autowindscreens.
Get the number of the local depot - from the rac website - www.rac.co.uk then click on the windscreen link on the left.
Depot will quote a cheaper price than the call centre.
