hi guys

just to let u no of a little problem that i encountered while i was getting my cambelt changed on my vtr

the car went into the garage to get its cambelt changed after recieving the car back i noticed that there was a oil leak it had lost performance and there was a rattling sound coming from behind the dash at first i thought it may have been the speedo cable as i have a years warranty on the car i told the garage and they got in back in as soon as they could.

when picking my car back up they told me that what had happend was that when they had changed the cambelt the woodruf key was not inserted back in the right way this had caused the woodruf to move and pierce one of the engine seal but thats not the only downside it had also damaged one of the teeth on one of the pulley gears so this was the cause of the power loss

fortunately my car was under warranty and still is so it was all fixed for free guess that is a plus from buying a car from a garage ey? or maybe not depends which way u look at it

anyways i just thought id let u no incase any of u hguys are going to get ur belt changed any time soon and u encounter this problem afterwards

cheers shaun

Fair play, a warranty with a garage that's worth having. My experiences of them, ain't good. Prefer to buy Private and run the risks. Can be more costly in the long run thou:upset:

I love to hear that a garage has acted as they should. Maybe you should name them so we all know the very good service you got.
