Well done mate,

But really 10hours driving from nothing then going out in a VTR, dont be stupid and bin it straight away.

Seems your trying to run before you can even walk.

Good luck tho.

Wouldnt matter is it was a old banger VTR, i no there not supper fast but safty is bad in them and to go from knowing nothing to going out in a 1.6 all witihin a week seems a tad mad.

cheers for all comments guys.

BUT....

Right- told my instructor today and hes RAJJIN.

Says 9 days is nowhere near enough experience.

Done 6hours so far.

But ive done all my menouvers apart from emergency stop.

All ive yet to do is a roundabout.

Doing another 6 until tuesday.

Then not too sure, get as many as i can.

But hes not happy and not letting me use his car, so using my mums swift.

He says im a very quick learner its just he doesnt argee with me rushing through it all.

I did 4 hour lessons with my instructor before I did my test but I could already drive before I did them.

Make sure you go out with parents all that you can before the test because being able to drive isn't everything matey. Have experience and being safe is priority

good luck anyway ;)

Right mate, no offence here but do you feel 100% ready for this test? Do you know Bathgate? I do and I don't like the roads tbh.

My cousin passed his test about 2 weeks after his 17th, wrote off two cars and got killed in a car crash last October (not his fault) as there was nothing he could do. All i'm saying his, don't jump the gun because even if you pass your test next November, you still have the rest of your life to drive.

I went from a Westcoast to a VTR and even the power in that scares me, so you will have a big shock driving a VTR when your not experienced. Your first few months are your worst, trust me.

Sorry If I sound like i'm been a prick, just think logical mate.

IF you go ahead, good luck!

he says its not that im not ready, its the experience part.

Well im gonna keep checking for a cancellation and try change it for about the 15th.

If not It'll be a case of either saturday or the 30th October. So saturday it is.

4th November 2006, 16:16
dude.

Rearranging for 4 days later isnt what we meant by getting experience.
These things take yonks :P

I dont know why but i have this feeling your going to bin it... im sorry if that comes across rude (im not :)) I'm just a bit worried for ya... nice car (except the back end), obviously very keen to pass, like his kruz's.... i can just see a bit of showing off going slightly wrong thats all. To be honest I'd just go for the test as soon as, its pretty clear you feel you're ready to take it, I know you wont want to take months of lessons so why bother. if you fail then fair enough you need more lessons, if you pass then bonus.

My mate had two official lessons but hes been driving for ages, he passed on his 3rd attempt, on all three he failed due to a wanker examiner, he had 0 minors on each and the same examiner. The examiner failed him for something that our test centre allows (the examiner was from another place) so his driving instructor went up there and complained, she they passed him.

I tell you now, if you pass... The systems f00kd up! booked test and not even done a roundabout :S. your guna get killed and look like a pilock taking ur test. Hurry up and get learning :).

just my views.

1st mistake taking your test on a saturday during the christmas period roads are going to be a bitch

2nd bad thing will be the wheather with it being december if the roads are at all icey foggy or anything like that be prepaired for your test to be cancelled

if i was you i would re-arrange it for a weekday around 10am the roads are clear after rush hour, you have enough time to wake up and prepare in the morning,

it took me nearly 2 years to get my licence and i wouldnt of done it any other way the 2 years driving experiance did me the world of good and my 1st car is a saxo vtr but the 2 cars i learned it was a corsa 1.2 sxi then he jumped it up to a c2 gt when i 1st drove the c2 i crapped myself because i wasnt used to the power in the car, i was driving in that for about 6 months before my test so i got some experiance with a car with a bigger engine.

wwhat im saying is dont jump into a car with a big engine straight away if you have never driven one before or had any experiance it will be really hard and your car will probably end up down the drain

but never the less good luck

Id be a hipocrit if i said what they say as my first car was my VTR. I went from no experience to 25 1 hr lessons + a few hours in my sax, i passed my test in the end of november which was fun + games lots of traffic + nice icey roads.

Experience is a must roads are unpredictable, it may not be you but the guy in the red clio...who knows.

Apart from that good luck lol.

You wont pass if you havnt done a round about yet.

No point wasting your money.

My friend had a VTR for first car which got written off after he went into the back of somone.

Not if, but WHEN you crash, prepare to be raped on your insurence!

shut up!

it doesnt matter what your first car is most people crash, just because youve got a more powerful car for a first car doesnt mean your going to crash.

my mate crashed his 1.0 litre corsa a month after he passed ive had my VTR for 3 months as my first car and havent crashed.

cars only go as fast as you push the accelerator at the end of the day.

I didnt care about the car really, just that hes only done a couple lessons and hasnt even been on a round about yet! I would wait.

I done my test on Saturday (25th)

2 minors.

I was failed for not using a buslane.

A Monday-Friday only buslane was incorporated into test route, and i didnt notice, waited for a car to pass and moved into outside lane.

It was classed as not being aware, as i should have read the signs.

The Tester said he fails Loads of people every saturday for exact same reason.

Resit is in 18days. (Friday 15th December at 8.40am)
