Did a quote for a 51 plate sax and a 54 plate civic cport both got bout 30k
vtr 1.6 8v 100bhp group 7
Civic sport 1.6 16v 108bhp group 6
and the final prices are
1 year fully comp
Civic = a wooopppping only £1120
and then you get the vtr = £3677 JOKE!!!!!
hmmm i wonder what car i will be getting then
what you guys think then, i think saxos now have a rep for boy racers sorry mates
Scott
6th November 2006, 18:55
you have only just came to the conclusion that they have a boy racer rep, welcome to 4 years ago :P
Civic is bigger safer and harder to steal. Saxo is small will be damaged more in a crash is easier to steal hence the huge difference in price

hahaha, im soooooooo glad i have my GTi. :P my car is Grp 14 insurance and she costs me £658, then my 205 is also Grp 14 and costs me £297 on classic insurance.
You see owning an older car is fantastic. People always ask me why I own a 14 year old car? Well its not because I cant afford a newer one it s a) i prefer the mechanics on the older cars b) it is the car I want.
once my 309 is 15 next year she will also be going on classic insurance along with Jelly.
How old are you all anyway trying to insure a Saxo but getting stupid quotes.
An 01 plate Saxo VTS for me to insure fully comp with 1 yrs NCB is..........£748 and im 23.
scotts

I don't really know how people are getting such high quotes, I'm 19, first car, no no-claims at all and I'm on at the happy side of 900.

29th November 2006, 14:46
heres some quotes ive had tpft,
Saxo vts (group 14) £1400
Civic vti (group 16) £1100
Proton Satria gti (Group 16) £720
makes sense don't it!
TU-Tuning
29th November 2006, 14:57
Satrias are stupid money to insure around heremore than a VTS by a long way, even the non GTi 1.5 look a likes are more than VTS's.

29th November 2006, 16:08
mine is not bad im 20 fully comp and hire car inc mine comes to about 700 even after having my 3 years no claims taken off me cause some stupid man hit my wing mirror with his, both damaged but somehow managed to get away with it, and my insurance company payin!!!!(having money to pay for lawyers)
Bri_vtr
29th November 2006, 17:22

29th November 2006, 19:07
I don't understand...
I've had a crash in last 3 yrs, im 22 and for me and the missus (driving less tan 2 yrs) fully comp on a 51 VTR is just over £600!! I have 2 yrs no claims also which i know helps but still....
djmartin

my quote is this
age 23
VTR
T reg (1999)
Parked away in garage
Standard Alarm
shoe size 9 (lol random one for a joke there lmao)
area is a group B so its a low risk area
0 no claims
Quinn-Direct £933 TPFT fully comp is around £1,230
AA insurance £775 Fully comprehensive
Kwik-Fit £758 fully comp
but insurance all depends on area, how many other cars you have in the house hold, where you park your car over night, how many miles youu'll do a year and others all these factors count so really think about what your putting down in your insurance or you may regret it when you finda cheaper one...plus if your under 21 your insurance will be higher im 23 so that does help alot for they see it as im more mature etc etc.......no offence to younger drivers there ov course but thats how the system works sorry to say........
so my quotes aint bad at all

thats wierd compared to how cheap i can insure a vtr with quinn at 21 years old. quote says almost 790 with 0 no claims TPFT. i am in a lowest risk area, but does that make so much difference? maybe they like bigger shoes.
djmartin
3rd December 2006, 00:03
the area you live in makes a big difference but depends on how the insurance company works not all companies work under the same policy......
hrere is an exmaple in Hull there is two areas one called kingswood other called bransholme
kingswood is no where near as ruff un protected as branshomle BUT due to them starting with te same are codes they are both known as HIGH risk areas but one is no where near a high risk area its silly i know but its how it works GRRRR.
yeh i think ill see if i can make my feet bigger lmao

say you have an upgraded alarm and imob and ull notice the price drop in the saxo :P
my declocked upgraded alarm with imob choped my insurance down by loads!
funny thing is i bought my vtr and insured it when i was 18... i did gti engine conversion when i was 19! so when i told insureance about engine change! price diden't go to high! why? err they said that becuse i told them i had changed the engine when i was 19! this ment it would work out cheaper :S wierd anyway cost me an extra 200quid on top of what i was paying
