hi, i generally understand ice info.. i currently have a full ice system in my car, 2 subs, amp, 6x9's (6x9's are shit and i'm soon getting rid of) which i installed my self.

only thing i dont understand is the whole ohms thing ? how do you change the ohms your running.

i'm soon going to be upgrading my whole ICE apart from headunit and want to know all info so i can get the most out of what i'm buying.

also to run say a 1000w RMS sub, technically would i need an amp that can pump 1000w RMS to the sub...

am i right?

you wouldnt "need" it but you wont get the best from the sub if you dont.

Ohms are the resitance of the subs, the lower the resistance the more power that can be had from an amp set up to cope with this.

Use this link to see how you would chagne your wiring to show different loads

Ideally you should have amps slightly more powerfull then the speaker needs so that the gain can be kept down and the amp the will produce a cleaner signal and it wont have to work as hard.
