Basically asking this for someone else but would you buy a Civic type R if you had the cash, knowing the new model will be out next year?
do you think the price of them will fall ALOT once the new type R is released?
mate has the cash for one but he didnt even know about the new one coming out soon.

I would hold on to the cash until the new one comes out.
I really want a type R but they are so expensive at the minute.

On the CTR forum they seem to think bring out the new model will make the current CTR hold its value better because no 1 will like the new model.
Gay i know

i think they will hold their value... people know they will be a massive demand in the second hand market for a while... i reckon another year or so after the new shape type r has sold a good few, before the current one starts to drop !

I love it I'd buy one tomorrow if I could afford it, I'm going to have it off her when she comes to change it.
Its one of the best cars I've driven and I have driven loads of quality cars.

IMO the price will not change at all when the new 07 model CTR comes out.
I would rather wait for the Civic Type RR to see what thats like, if not go for a DC5, you cant go wrong.
Im still thinking about getting a DC5, after test driving both, DC5 is way in front.

I had one of the very first CTR's, 51 plate in Nighthawk Balck, I ordered it without even test driving one as there was no demos built at the time. Great fun to drive in the dry. Shite in the wet, wheelspin in 4th gear. I had it only for 5 weeks and the front tyres were already half worn. Look for an import if you can find one. 220 bhp with the all important LSD. I part ex'd it for a Tommi Mak Evo 6.5. and only lost £500 as the CTR was in demand at the time. The free Advanced driving course you got with it was great fun too, oh and the free flowers I gave my mum were very nice. It does do 146mph aswell on a private test track of course

The focus rs will probabley keep its value over the years more than a ctr though. Just look at things like the escort cosworth. some are 13 years old and still worth 15K

the new type r in white is sweet

Some of the focus rs's are going for under 10k. I would go for an RS over a CTR personally.
Although if you can afford to spend that much on a car then I would get an evo or something.
