does anyone know anything about this kind of thing?? iv bin told that i need a new rear bumper and a new boot thingy!! lol..im just wondering whether anyone knows if i could just buy these parts myself from the internet and then get someone to fit them for me?! if i can do this..then does any1 have any idea hw much it would cost to fit it all?!?! thankyou very much!!! xxxx

hey and welcome, try the for sale section for the parts you need, or a scrap yard! seems a bit pricey to fix, maybe alot cheaper to get it fixed yourself

Hi mate welcome to Sax-P

Your right £1000 does sound like stupid money, be better to get the boot and the bumper 2nd hand. Just got to spray and fit them then. Was there any damage to the actual chassis?

hi and welcome

as the boot doesnt shut it may have dented the boot slam panel(if thats the word)(the bit where the latch is) if so it will need to be straightened out on a jig depending how badly damaged it is

you will need new bumper tailgate which can be picked up cheaply from scrappys you maybe lucky to find them in the same colour if you have a popular colour

if not then there will be spraying which is costly for a good job

have the rear 1/4 pannels been dented as if so its gona cost more

Go To Your Local Scrapyard, Show Them Your Car And Ask Him How Muxh Its Going To Cost, Dont Forget To Barter, Can Usually Knock Some Money Of, Im Guessing Your A Bird With Your Knowledge Of Cars, Take A Lad With You, Who Knows Summat Bout Cars, Then Take The Car To A Few Local Bodyshops And Get Some Prices For Fitting And Spraying, And Youll Be On Your Way. Shouldnt Cost You At The Most More Than £400-500 Really!!

WELCOME TO SAX-P :)

Shouldnt cost much for parts, its just spraying thats usually the expensive bit.

Boots you can pickup for under £100, bumpers for under £50 and i saw a slam panel going on ebay for £50 aswel, you may even be lucky and find those parts in the same colour as your car.

None of them are difficult to fit so get someone to give you a hand and try doing it yourself :) hope that helps

Welcome to sax-p! as everyone has said a grand seems a bit stupid for what you need fixing if the chassis aint been damaged! bootlids and bumpers are quite easy to get hold of and shouldn't cost much!! How fast did you hit the post???

UMM IT WASNT EVEN FAST AS I WZ JUS REVERSIN 2 GET OUT OF MY PARKIN SPACE..BT I CNT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE THO!!! :shock:Whoa, calm down - people are trying to help you. No need to SHOUT. Also, try to tone down the text-talk - Saxperience has a large international membership and text-talk is difficult for many non-native english speakers to understand.

Now, on to more serious matters... Welcome to Saxperience! :P

£1000 sounds a lot. If you do the work yourself you'll save a lot of money (only need to purchase the parts). You can go to a scrap-yard to keep costs down, which has already been suggested.

If you can put some photos online that will help people judge how bad the damage is.
