I was going to post a thread tonight but seein as we'r on the subject, I was behind a 205GTi and try'd to get infront of him for the two lanes went into one, now he wasnt pullin away from me but I couldnt catch up :-(

(If anyone knows the bit of road between Tarpots and Saddlers Farm roundabout on the A13 their know what I mean, two lanes like hell is it two lanes)

What did the 1.9s put out standard back in the day?

The 1.9 was 130 brek as standard and lighter than the VTS, making about 140bhp per ton.
Strangely, 0-60mph in 7.9secs. I reckon it would outpace the VTS by around 2 seconds in a 0-100 dash.

1.6 was 115 brek and a similar pwr to weight as the VTS. Although much slower than the Sax at around 8.5 to 60mph, slowwww.

eeer no the 205 1.9 was 128bhp as standard as is the 309 GTi and is capable of 0-60 in 7.6 secs (but people always say they are 130 for some reason) where as the 309 comes in at 7.9secs

the 1.6 205 may be alot slower on 0-60 but it is a dam nippy car still. They are most certainly not slow.

I fort the 1600 was nearer the 100bhp as the XR2i's we'r pushin just over the 100bhp with the 8v CVH's around that time. Did the 1600 ever work its way into the 309 Zara?

I had my 309 Rolling Roaded 4 weeks ago. She is pushing out 98.2bhp @ the wheels which we worked out to be 122bhp @ fly. She has lost all of 6bhp in almost 15years.

Im not complaining. She has had alot of work done but is completely standard apart from stainless exhaust.
