I sort of agree with sidesport, but surely General Chat is for general things and not necessarily for car chat. The forum has the interior, engine, etc forums for car matters. With all the car matters able to be put in these forums what exactly would you put in the general chat?

Maybe if the engine and other forums were put at the top of the forums page people would think they were the more important forums so would chat in there instead?

Maybe would be an idea to make an adult forum at the bottom if you were to allow conversations about sex to carry on otherwise really to move the general chat further down the list!

I just disagree with all the sex chat as we also have kids on the site.

We don't really want to know who's horny and and who's done what in bed, and who wants to do what with who here! This is not one of those online sex sites, if you want that, call sex lines or go to appropriate sites, not here please.

I think that's something that should be private to urselfs, not for the whole world to know! So if everyone could keep that out of the forum would be great!

Mayb the problem isn't so much the general chat is in the wrong place, but more that people want to go in there more than they do the other forums.

A lot of the people in general chat never post in the car related forums like engine or styling. This means then they really aren't interested in this side of chatting.

The newbies chat is directly above the general chat which could that is the next thing all the newbies see and therfore use for chat.

I think the problem is more that people ARE posting car related threads in General chat rather than the car related forums. If general chat were changed to Non-car related chat then maybe everyone would place their threads in the correct forum and therefore there'd be no need to even look at non- car related chat(general!) unless you were after talking about something else.

General chit chat is a good way to strike up relationships. Often, banter is the first type of contact newbies have, then as/when peeps decide to stick around the community grows...

MANY people come to sax-p JUST to look at the content on the site, which is fine... often these people choose to talk general waffle on other forums (which is great!)

The peeps that really are interested in whats offered on the site, tend to stick around more, then make an appearance on the forum smileys/smiley2.gif

I think things will progress quite well, with a little input from the mod's every now and again smileys/smiley14.gif
