you can get a pack of 9mm and 13mm grommets in halfords like a quid its one of those sizes that fit quite well just super glue it in

I havent got my saxo yet so I dont know how the central locking works but if I de-pinned it how would you lock yourself in the car and how would you get out after? Would it be better if you were to saw off just enough of the metal rod so that when then pin is down it lays flush with the door so it cannot be pulled up?

Also does the internal door handle automatically unlock the door when used?

Cheers

the internal door handle does not unlock the door when used on my car. u have to pull the pin up. i dont have central locking though so it might be different!

oh and to lock urself in if u have remote central locking u just push the button. If u dont then u will have to wind down the window and put the key in the lock

I had central locking and it still didn't lock me inside or unlocked it if you pulled the door handle on the inside! I had the remote central locking unit to do that but if you don't have one you might be in a bit of trouble with it. I also had an alarm fitted that locked the car automatically when the engine was switched on so to unlock it you had to switch the engine off too!

So i'd probably have to talk to the alarm fitter about his then. I was also told that if I got a cat 1 alarm in it there was pretty much no chance the car would be stolen because it could only take proffesionals to steal it and they wouldn't be after a saxo. Is that true? If so I dont need to mess around with a steering lock do I?

The internal door handles dont unlock the doors when operated from inside when locked... The way to lock your doors whilst being in the car if youve removed your door pins is to use your key fob to activate your central locking.

The standard VTS alarm does this... ANY aftermarket alarm will also be able to do this, but youd have to make sure the alarm circuit didnt trigger with the ignition turned on...

Okay then, i'll have to sort it out with the alarm guy.
