the indicator has been taken off aswell cudnt find it with the arch, i can see the connecter through the hole should i cover this up incase it gets wet

Sounds as though it has torn itself off mate. This happened to my old vtr, it just used to undress itself randomly!

Its happened to you for a second time? Damn that sucks. When you put it back on dont use the crappy clips, use small bolts, the head will fit in the same slot as the clips then just bolt up the other side when u put it through the panel. Much more secure way of fitting them.
