My cousin who is a bit of a tw*t has been driving around for nearly a year in his escort 1.6 with no insurance, no tax , no license nothing. A few weeks ago while reversing out of a car park he bumped into another car and then drove off home thinking he wouldn't get caught, luckily someone saw what happened and reported his reg to the police.

Now hear is my rant, after going to court to be prosecuted he ends up with a £250 fine, not bad eh?

So what really pisses me off is how he gets a small fine like that when i have spent literally thousands to drive (insurance, tax, driving lessons etc).
i hate this country sometimes:rage: :rage: :rage: :rage: :rage:

yeh mate, its bad crack isnt it. what they should do is work out how much it would cost to tax, insure etc and add that cost to the £250. that would make more sense wouldnt it?

Well I just lost my lisence for 1, yes 1 mistake. Speeding, given 51 (apprently) in a 30.. but still my first mistake in a year and a half driving, BOOM 250 fine for me, BOOM lisence gone

Its a hard lesson but the speed limits are there for a reason

I agree, my only argument is it seems a little harsh. Not like I was drink driving or anything.. etc.

Man that don't half suck....The law's gone soft thesedays...you can get away with anything...It needs to be alot more stricter so people learn from their mistakes and won't try it again! :rage:

This country is truely shit sometimes. My boyfriends mate drove around with no insurance and tax for years. He kept getting new cars all the time. The police finally caught up with him and he got a measly fine.

My boyfriend on the other hand let a mate test drive a car he had for sale in a car park. His mate told him he was insured on other peoples cars, and he believed him as you would with a mate. Police came over, turns out the mate wasn't insured and my boyfriend got 6 points and a fine. He had his licence revoked, had to take his test again, and the points have only just dropped off his license but still effect his insurance

That is utterly disgraceful...

I agree with what you said about how much you have spent to drive. I have spent nearly 2K on Insurance, £4.5K on the car, £600 on Driving lessons plus the whole road tax.

The country give you no incentive to drive.

The law here is kinda messed up, watching a program the other day on tv someone did a hit and run killing the teen to get a 600pound fine and 6 months in prison. Fucker killed the girl and still got NOTHING for it tbh. Know quite alot more of this kind of things and well it gets me right mad when someone doing something minor gets punished worse than someone else that does something alot more major.

Im sorry but thats appauling, I got banned for 2 years for speeding and having a minor accident where I broke my wing mirror and someone with no tax, license or insurance get a £250 fine!!!!! Where's the consistency in that?

There is a good reason there are many uninsured drivers out there, why? Because a 250 quid fine is always cheaper than spending money on MOT/Tax/Insurance/License in the 1st place. A woman was is currently driving like this with nothing and never got caught for over 30 years (saw on tv again btw).

So yeah....
