Similar to the Boy Racer but a step up from the nova these young men have decided to buy a citroen saxo (usually 1.1 litre). Usually bought by mommy or on finance. Once car is purchased they then slam as much plastic on the bodywork as possible 2 attract girls attention! Little do the girls kno no matta which model saxo it is its a slow car and their "hunk" has only bought it course its cheap 2 run and cheap 2 find lil stupid extras for it!

After alerting u all to the hate us owners seem to be subject to on the 'saxos are sh*t' thread', iv come across the urban dictionary online...which refers to us as above. I say we start a saxperian empire and crush these sites to bits...i aint havin it lol!!

There'll always be a quicker car, no matter what you drive unless you've got a Bugatti. Pennies per BHP would be a good way to look at it.

My VTS is making about 140bhp. I paid £3000 quid for the car and have spent about £1000 improving the engine. I raced a Golf GTI the other day. The mark 5, 197BHP one. He edged past me on the carriageway.
Whose the mug? He's paid the thick end of £20,000 for that and was nearly embarrassed by me in my chavvy Saxo.

I couldn't care less what anyone says, my car is fookin blinding off the line and that's good enough for me.....for now.

drive a scooby or a type r or a 182, then go back to a saxo and you'll get the point.

vts is quick though, cant argue with that.

I think the world would be a better place if they didn't come up with VTR and VTS, cos thats whats causing all the confusion. End of the day if the corsa 1.6 was called a VTR it would apparently be rapid :/

vts is a dam quick car and compared to other make eg

ford
honda
hyundai
saubru
mazda
ect

they are slow in my opinion
(where looking on the same lines here 1.6 16v) not 2.3 turbo because obvisly there going to be fucking quick

but a vts it 1 of the top performing cars of its range even the 150bhp new fiesta is poor compared the the vts

and a vtr is also a fast ish can but its more for the town driving its a cracking car around town and nice and smooth on the motorways

Hot Hatches have moved on a total new level since the Saxo was introduced. You can't possibly compare the VTS to the likes of a CTR, Clio182 etc.

But nowadays, if your car hasn't got 200bhp (or close to it) then people say your car aint fast! Its bollocks.

You compare the VTS to what I call the ''old school'' hatches and it would more than hold it's own. Cars like the Fiesta RS Turbo, Clio 1.8 16V, Fiesta RS1800, Astra GSI, Punto GT Turbo, 5Turbo, 205Gti, 309Gti and ANY, ANY Golf Gti (apart from the 197bhp one!).......etc, etc.

The list goes on...

Fair enough Saxos have a bad name and we might be classed in the chav areas, but IMO I don't see that many that are 'chav' modded, as most people I know from this site are respectable.

The Saxo is a quick and fun car for what it is. I reckon in years to come, the VTR/VTS will be like the 205 GTi.

people learned not to mess with me or they would be sucked in my filter and thrown out the exhaust,private roads only of course!now sum may class me a chav as its a nova and i go racing random cars,whats the point in building a quick car not to be raced on a 1/4

saxos are known for this becasue theyre aim in life was to be owned by 'young drivers'

all makes and models of cars get bad rep - i have seem some seriously chav'd up mark 4 polos recently - but its an individuals taste - not everyone into bodykits and neons are chavs - its just what they like!!!
