Scott
4th March 2004, 19:19
Fred which one is it you have?

I was looking at getting a V2 or II whatever the fuck you call it as you can get them fairly cheap now but have been reading about the different type of memory it uses and wondered if you had it was it much of an issue?

Frevo
4th March 2004, 19:32
I have a V3.

The V2 an II are totally different cameras.
The V2 is the model before the V3, the II is more of a replacement of the V3, though I wouldn't be surprised if even the people at Canon don't get it anymore...

The V2 uses CF memory, the II uses SD memory. CF is the better and cheaper kind of momory. The 400 also uses it.

What you need? Depends what you want..

Pics in not very high resolutions (upto 1600x12whatever) and al the other features like seleting your own shutter speed (and you will use this!) but as cheap as possible: get a V2 as they're old and very cheap. Though if you can get a II for the same money, get that. I may have worse memory, but a bit more other feature and a bit better picture quality. But if you can get a V3 then get that. Just as good than the 400, only slighty less MP (but I only take pics in a 1024x768 resolution anyway).. Or just get the daddy... the 500 smileys/smiley4.gif

So the list from good to better:

Ixus i (because it hasn't got optical zoom, and misses out on some really trick features)
Ixus V2
Ixus II
Ixus V3
Ixus 400
Ixus 500

Frevo

Frevo
4th March 2004, 19:47

Areke
4th March 2004, 19:48

Frevo
4th March 2004, 20:00
I didn't get any email from you.. but that might explain why tcad is so quiet ----> MY FUCKING EMAIL IS FUCKED... AGAIN!!!

And you're right.. it was over 700 with 128mb card and bag... 649 without.
