Should be an interesting game. After all a few years back the Scotts wanted to join the premership and believed they were title running threats.
Will be interesting to watch the best team in scottland V the best team in england and really see how the two compair against each other.
Predictions?

Read an iteresting thing in newspaper the other day regarding added on time at end of games back when United were Kings of premiership (in there era).
When United were loosing the game ther added on time at end of matches average to 6 and half minutes....a big difference to Southampton who got an average of a minute

united far from walked over celtic at old trafford... Scottish teams also have an excellent history against english teams.
However at the moment Scottish football is very poor. Nothing like 5 years ago when money was in the game. Currently we get less than £20m in tv money, the worst teams in the premiership get £20m each.
The gulf is not as large as most think though, there are 4/5/6 good teams in the premiership the rest are gash to.
Strachan also never said that the premiership was no better than the SPL. He said that the premiership isnt the best league in the world, which it isnt.

Very good point.
Buying success doesnt count.
When Roman dies, Chelsea will die.
United are the best English team without a doubt.
I prefer to watch Arsenal though, they are brilliant to watch.

Not sure why you both got so deferance then tho. Has nothing to do with it.

There is no way United will find this game as easy as most people on here seem to think.
United haven't been at their best away from home in the Champions League for ages, not just this season. They were lucky to beat Benfica 1-0 and obviously got beat in Copenhagen (albeit with a weakened team).
Celtic are pretty good at Parkhead, they battered Benfica and I reckon they'll be up for this game. United are a lot stronger than Celtic on paper but I think Celtic will put 'em under loads of pressure so the defence will have to play well without a doubt.
I think United would take a draw and no injuries tonight, what with Chelsea to play on Sunday. BRING IT ON!
Anyways, 1-1 for me. Celtic to go ahead and United to equalise late on.
How's that for a detailed answer? Lol.
PugDan
21st November 2006, 18:46
Doesnt matter how much they spent I suppose.
They are not top of the league and will not win it this season.

United are the best English team.

Well said mattc, thats what footballs all about, im a Man Utd supporter, have been since i watched my first match, the 1990 cup final reply against palace, followed them throughout the whole 90's and all of alex's years. Suported them no matter what, last night was a disapointment but we should still get through. I no nowadays there are alot of chelsea supporters that have magically come out of the woodwork, same as United had in the late 90's. But it football, its all part of it, an amazing game...

If you were working in McDonalds for £5 an hour and Burger King tried to poach you from there as you cook a good burger and were willing to pay you £10 an hour would you stay in your current job or go somewhere else for twice the price.....
Plus if I was a manager it would be a dream to work with some of the best players in the world......
For the record I dont support Chelsea
Clouds_mate

Maybe he wouldnt be there....
Ok so its gone from buying the leauge to getting all the best players (we dont have any world class players) now to the manager?
Question on everyones lips is this....IF chelsea didnt pay the waterboy £11 an hour would the players have enough water to win the league. Maybe he wouldnt of been there is Roman wasnt there and Ken bates was only willingto release £4 an hour to the water boy back in the day.
Seems its excuse after excuse, Bskyb ruined the sport, offering such high money for the good teams to be on sky sports back in the day. Then it was Blackburn, Utd etc etc. Since then its become a bussiness for the chairman and boards of clubs they dont want to realse money because it out of there own pocket and dont want lose income....if it doesnt prove as an increase/investment. See with Roman its not his income hes playing with so money isnt a factor and everyone in the world knows that hence when chelsea go for a player it adds a fucking stupid price tag. Looking at the key of the players we have had over the last 4 years its worse then utd, you have had much better players and if chelsea paid the correct price for the players we would of spent the same as utd and not the stupid inflated prices.
