Guys,

My Girlfriends Insurance is up for renewal next month and she is currently paying £917 Fully Comprehensive on a Ford Fiesta 1.25 Freedom (06 PLATE) with 1 years NCB. That is with Sheilas Wheels btw.

Now I have done a few quotes for her with 2 years NCB and cheapest I got was with The AA. I think it was £630, which to be honest ain't too bad living in a high(ish) risk area.

Can anyone recommend any insurers that your girlfriends/sisters/wifes use that are really good?

I know about Sheilas Wheels, Diamond etc but I'm not sure on anymore.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Luke

I was with elephant, they were £715 FC at 18 1yrs NCB
Then Diamond, they were £589 FC at 19 2yrs NCB (then with mods)
And now I'm with Bell, they are £389 at 20 3yrs NCB

Sheila's wheels wouldn't insure me because I'm a student even though I pay my insurance in full every year

I think there is one called girl motor but I've never tried them. Just google it

EDIT: all on the VTR BTW

Thanks.

I'll try Bell later for a quote.

was going to say Bell, got a quote from them today for a Seat Leon Cupra 180bhp and it was £1800 fully comp, everywhere else was like £2300 plus.
could try NIG im with them now, or the usual Quinn, Premium Choice are a good broker.
hope that helps

I'm with diamond which was the cheapest at the time, but I've had a quote from bell myself that works out cheaper.
Sheilas wheels quoted me alot more than i am payin now.
I was with churchill when I had my fiesta, and I paid £600 fully comp.
Get on confused.com, saves loads of time and effort!! and will show which is cheapest!

I used them a while back and I don't personally like it.

At the moment, it's looking like AA but I'll keep looking. Cheers for advice though Vicky.

Just as a thought, when I got my first car, and had only been driving for a year, All insurance companies wanted £1000 + for a 1.2 fiesta!, so I got my other half to insure it, and have me as a 'named', 'main' driver.
It Was the difference of about £50 a month, cos he even got discount for havin 2 policys with the same insurers!
Just thought I'd mention it, tell me to shut up!

Thanks for all the advice.

I might try to add her onto my policy as a second car, try Diamond and Post Office.

You got a quote from Tescos mate?

My girlfriends with them on an 05 plate 1.4 C2. She pays 1000 fully comp.

First year driving, no NCB, no nothing, 18 years old.

I'm a bit jealous I paid 1900 on a MK2 Punto 1.2 :P

Seem to be really competitive.

Yeah, I think it was £1,017 Fully Comp.

Quite Expensive to be honest, but thanks anyway.

Ah bad luck, you tried quoteline direct? Got me my cheapest insurance quote on the VTS. Don't think they give female discounts though.. I think Diamond and Shielas Wheels own the market. Good luck though :)

Looks like it's going to be the AA.

If she's 21 yet take the best quote you've had to BRENTACRE INSURANCE - 01792 650993. I was being quoted rediculous prices on my old car and when I phoned them they quoted £230 less than my cheapest quote and they are excellent!

Still with them now and only pay £400 fully comp on the sax
