Wanted my S50's infront of grills, so set about cutting out grills and drilling etc.. but they wiegh too much and didnt sit right.
So ive just had to buy new grills.
So now i am just gonna bolt the speakers to door, But i have no Idea Whatsoever where to bolt crossovers to.
So where did you put yours.
Is the indent inside the door deep enough to bolt them to door??
Or would the door card not fit.
Im gonna try it all tommorrow anyway.
Cheers

If you had managed to mount them on the grilles they would have sounded shite. Speakers need a good solid mounting. Ideally you should make MDF rings for them. Screw and silicone them mdf to the door then mount the speakers to the MDF. This gives a good solid mounting.
With ICE you need a good quality installation a lot more then you need good equipment.
You can mount the crossovers anywhere. A lot of people use the smaller door pocket on the door card. You could also mount them uder the dash or in the boot.

right just waiting on my Dynamat arriving.
Ran all the cables and drilled doors last night, mounting the crossovers in the door card pocket with drilled hole to bring wires through.
Once dynamat comes, i need to make all my connections in the rear, tidy up the bootbuild and cover it, then bolt it to chassis, and thats me good to go.
Just wish my bloody dynamat and Audison amp would hurry up and arrive.

I wouldn't use carpet unlay in your doors, remember water goes through them :) it wouldn't exactly add much mass either.

Damn not being able to edit; you could use the insulation between the doorcard and metalwork if you seal the doorup properly. I would also get some flashing tape and use it on at least the inside door skin.
