Hi all, i'm very new to this forum so hope you can help! I have a 2000 VTS (W) with a weird problem. Once the engine is warmed up , when sitting at idle, the revs will hold constant for 12 or so seconds then they dip and become rough and eratic for bout 10 seconds then return to normal. The timing is almost always the same..Any idea's? Cheers!

After having a squint at some of thoes posts, one other thought does spring to mind..when i got the car, it failed an mot because it was missing a cat. I replace it and put a Scorpion system on. Could the missing cat have fried the lambda before i owned it?

hmmm its doubtful as it was designed to be in there regardless of the cat being there or not its more likely its just dead and has been known to be a very common thing to die, not very cheap to replace think the last time i heard its around £80 but shop around and see what prices you can get

Ta Scott, £80 ain't too bad but i'll take your advice and have a look, see if i can find something a little closer to budget!

Just whilst i'm on about it, i asked the garage about the reving problem and he had a wee look at it. He reckons its the MAP sensor and/ or the wires leading up to it. Whilst it was idiling, he moved and pulled the wires just before the multi plug and the engine started doing it's usual, running like a peice of shit! After he'd played around , it seemed to be happening less! Does anyone think he's right and could it just be a loose connection or does the MAP sensor need done? Sorry for the long question! smileys/smiley17.gif

The answer is very easy...i had the exact same problem with mine. All it took was to replace all sensors on the throttle body and the coil pak. smileys/smiley14.gif

trust me...it did the job, with an addition...car runs better and faster!! smileys/smiley10.gif
