this maybe a really silly question, but..... with a standard wiring kit which comes with all i need, does the amp run from the RCA preouts?
Looking to just buy a cheap headunit to last a few months, and some say 2 RCA preouts (F+R) and some say 2 RCA preouts (F+R - S/W)
Would i need the Subwoofer preout, or can i run it from the normal preouts?

yes the amp runs from the RCA outs
Im confused by the next bit, you say your looking to buy and headunit AND preouts? THe preouts come pre defined on the headunit.
SUb can be run from a normal preout

Thats what i needed to know, cheers Scott, just looking atdifferent headunits, and some state preouts (F+R) and some state preouts for (F+R/Sw)
I no the preouts are predefinied on the headunit, i just wanted to know if the preouts form (F+R) would run the amp
Cheers

Having a sub pre out usually just means you can control the sub level by the headunit. If you don't use rear speakers (recommended) then to turn the sub down without a sub preout you just using the fading controls and more it to the front.
