I think the HDIs are turbo diesel mate.
Have just been looking on autotrader :P

I have heard very good things about the 306 HDIs. Nice comfy cars,
pretty good engine and dont look half bad either!
Especially the ones with the pug cyclone alloys on.

Check on autotrader mate you will find that the HDI is a turbo diesel.

Well if your looking at a HDI then im guessing you are looking more at
doing miles in the car and consumption??

BTW not sure i follow you when you say "fast for overtaking"

overtaking what lol?

i have 2 cars at the mo, a 306 HDi (which im selling if anyone wants...finishes on ebay at 10 ish tonight) and a 106 GTi, the 306 HDi is a turbo, it has the same power as the older 306 turbo diesel (pre 2000) both have around 90BHP however the HDi is much better for tuning, a remap from Angel tuning will take it up to 120BHP for about £300, with this you'll get 120mph happily enough, and 60 in about 10sec flat, also you can get intercooler kits, for around 300 - 400 squid taking to about 150BHP. And you will still get 45-50MPG or 500-600 miles on one tank!
Another Diesel option is the Mk4 Golf TDi 110 BHP standard, this cant be remapped but can be chipped to around 150BHP for around £400

106 Quiksilver. :)

a 106 Quicky is niether lol :P

how much are you looking to spend, a 306 is a great little motor, but the 1.4's and 1.6's are very heavy quite sluggish cars, i've been in both, but with the old turbo diesel, you won't have any problems there mate. Depending on how much you have to spend and how old you are, alot of eople consider the Audi A3 as a step-up from the Saxo!

Puma is the same size as a Fiesta really.

Pumas are pretty nice, especially the 1.7 Zetec SE.
If you are considering a Puma, then maybe look at the Fiesta Zetec S?

Nice cars to drive (dont tell Mike lol)

HDI is the PSA version of the 'common rail' diesel engine technology. its in it 2nd generation now with some going to 3rd generation (i.e. higher injection pressures).

All commercial diesel engines manufacturer today are turbo'd.
