corsa probably straight line speed.
but with small engines i wouldnt worry about speed, its all about the handling ;)

see i reaocn that the corsa would go ahead a lil in a staigh line but goin thougth a street or summet (for example) the westcoast would beat it or atleast keep up wid it depends on the driver to be fair

Why worry - they both do over 70 ;)
If you are happy with your car, then that should be enough....

What is a Corsa Sport? 1.4 16v?
If so, then the Westcoast should have it from stationary (because of the 8v's) but the Corsa should then kick in after 30(ish)mph.

my mate has a 1.4 corsa sport - theyre rapid - until the engine blows... (his engine blew up, unlucky guy) I think the sport perhaps would be faster but her says a 1.4 corsa sport would keep up with a vtr...?

^ ^ ^ They'd both be pushing out around 100bhp.

its down to driver skill imo! but the figures would favour a corsa, however Saxo's look the nuts and are little go karts round corners!

i've said this again but someone i know went from a 1.4 16v corsa to a vtr and said there was no competition. vtr was way quicker. and it was a 90bhp one.

A 1.4 corsa sport is not as fast as a VTR. The 1.6 sport only does 0-60 in something like 10.1 seconds standard.

westcoast 1.4 8v
corsa sport 1.4 16v
the corsa would accelerate much quicker since it has DOHC

^^^not necessarily, look at the vts and vtr, both quite similar torque until about 4k with the vts only pulling away after 3.5-4k. also depends on gearing and weight.

hmmmm
im sure a 16v engine produces more power than an 8v.... then again torque is what the driver feels.....
ive just bought another VTR today.... W (mk2)reg in china blue
picked it up for 1600quid...:afro:
it is quick, no mods such as airfilter or anything like that

torque dictates acceleration, power dictates top speed. doesnt matter if the 16v has more power, it's all about torque- look at a fiesta zetec s(16v), a vtr (8v) would kill it as it has more torque.
