Me and my mate were going around having a look at some cars today as he is wanting something a bit faster than his 1.2 clio!

we came across a really nice clio 182 sport in black. we had a look round it and couldnt believe the price, it was on £5899 for a 05 plate, it only had 9000 miles, but it was a cat D write off! i know this means its been in a bump and repaired but does it make a massive difference in insurance?

any ideas?

my saxo was the same but i dont think it matters - then again for the cost of mine a write off could have been a badly damaged door.

If it has been a write off does not matter at all it is just the same if it hadnt been in a accident

so just to clarify, insuring a cat c/d makes NO difference to your premiums AT ALL?

what other differences does having a cat c/d make?

i'm looking for my first car, vtr, and haven't considered any cat c/d car until i heard what was just said!

thanks
