Hi guys,
I'm going to attempt to remove the latts in my standard grill tomorrow, leaving the Citreon badge, and meshing the rest of it..
I was wondering if any of you guys had any tips on how to do it? :P
Any help would be great.
Cheers.

pop the bonnet, look under the grill , theres 6 0r 7 torque bolts, take em out, pop the grill out, cut away at the slates, sand em down neat, and this would be a great time to use black plasticote paint on ur grill too, or whatever colour you wish, should be a 20min job sir.Mind mask up the shitroen badge if u wana keep it silver.Wish ya luck.

And don't rush it... I know so many people who have done it quickly and have made a complete pigs ear out of it. Some people have even bought more grills from Citroen because they've ruined their existing ones.

You should be able to pop the shitroen badge off when u take the slats out before spraying.

Cheers Kris, aye i've done that.
The latts are all cut out took me ages fannying on with it, as i didn't wanna do something stupid to the grill.
To be fair its looking quite good at the moment, just needs spraying, and the badge re-doing.
Anyone got any ideas of what mesh I should use? Where and what type to buy? Ideally i'll be putting black mesh on, I assume to just spray it?
Are there different types of mesh quality wise?
Any help would be appreciated again guys.
Oh and i'll put pics up of the finished job :)
Thanks again!

Ok guys, I've sprayed my grill and the backing mesh, which i got from BnQ woo ;), Citreon black and just wondering on your opinions for what colour i should spray the Citreon badge on the front?
The colours i'm torn between are "Alpine White", which is like a creamy white colour, and "Star Silver", which is pure silver basically.
Also guys, how will i put the grill together? I'm just wondering how I will back the grill with the mesh?
Thanks guys. As promised finished pics will go up :)

What colour is your car mate?
Btw, in answer to your previous question... yes you can get different types of mesh (patterns/thicknesses, etc...) as you have probably now found out. I bought some decent thick black mesh from Halfrauds. It was quite a large piece and I got that for £20.

B n Q did the job damo, £4 can't go wrong lol..
It was a fairly large sheet too, and nice and tightly woven so its ideal for the car.
Its black, Damo mate, thats why I thought the White may work.. In some eyes it could look tacky though, thats what i'm worried about!
Btw how did you put your mesh on with your grill? Cut around and then tape/glue?
I'm intrigued to know how :)
Cheers.

Ahhh nice one :)
The black and white contrast can look good but can also look bad if done wrong. I'd like to see somebody do a photoshop to be honest because I think have white chevrons on an all black car might look a bit odd. You could spray them that silver... Could match the colour of the rear badges?

u can just use tigerseal or sum silocan to put the mesh into the grill thats all i used, like the sound of the colours like mate

Cheers guys, I've sprayed the chevrons white, keep topping up the paints, and i'll just see what it looks like when i put it all together tomorrow :)
If it looks a bit tacky, which to be honest I fear, I can easy pop the chevrons out and respray them and i'm pretty sure the silver would compliment the grill well.

Just a quick question, is it easy to cut the slatts out of the grille. And how does the Citroen shevrons come out? Flat bladed screwdriver or what? I havnt looked as it's dark outside so if anyone can let me know.
Sorry for the thread hijack lol.

Yeah Francis mate I had no difficulty in doing it. You have to gentley sand it down mind you, thats what took the time with mine, getting it all flush! :)
And the Chevrons pop straight out mate, 3 clips inside the grille for each chevron, just unclip then push from behind.
Easy as pie! ;)
If you need any help with it give me a shout, just done mine yesterday/today. Be in the car tomorrow once paint sets :P
