This might be in wrong thread, so i apologise if it is, but i got this with the keys on my car but its never actually done anything. When i first got it when i pushed the button the little red light lit up in the corner, so i thought, its not battery thats gone then, but it never did anything. And now i push the button and the light doesn't light up anymore, so i'm thinkin its for the central locking and maybe the battery was on its way out? But i just wanted to see if it was for the central locking before i got a new battery, or if anybody knew what it was for. Anyone else got one?

thats the alarm ain't it mate! which will possibly be linked to the central locking btw!

well i have another button for my alarm, so i dont think so, unless like you say....its for both. If i took it down to a key shop, would they be able to fix it or at least know what it is?

just put a new battery in it! its the alarm that was fitted in factory, it might not work, thats maybe why you have another alarm!
is the alarm you have that works an aftermarket one!?

On mine that key fob in your picture only operates the central locking. I am not aware that there is a manufacturers alarm fitted but there is an immobiliser. The ignition key comes with its own unique code that will only allow it to work the immobiliser fitted on your car. This is what i have been lead to beleive by reading the owners manual and there is a card slotted in the hand book with my code printed on incase i need to order a new key.

yeah there is deffo a factory fitted alarm, cause the mrs has one on hers!

the alarm came with it so im not sure to be honest. Ill wack a new battery in it and see if anything happens
