i hate this insurance thing!! i was on rac website looking for insurance and they quoted me £2100 (tpo!) for my 1.0! im finding it hard getting on the insurance ladder never mind the property one!
my insurance is obviously going to be bad because im 18, new driver, no-no claims and i live in a bad area

best i can find is £837, for six months, get one yrs no claims for that 6 months. then ill be a year 19 so with the quick one yr no claim hopefuly i can get a 12 month policy for under £1500

i find it unfair because my area has a bad reputation for boyracers speeding, crashing, and using our streets to show off their drain pipe exausts that sound like farts lol. there has been a 2 deaths in the last year because of these idiots and i think is the cause off the high premiums in my area.

anyone found that it is the area you live in effects insurance badly?

my area messes up my insurance too! i think with 1 years driving exp, on my own insurance with my mum and dad as named drivers on my 1.0 i was quoted £1,400 fully comp. Maybe go on a parents insurance for a year then go on your own after your first year (if your going to keep the 1.0) if not, guess you will have to bite the bullet and pay full wack!

adding 2 women will tend to drop it a few hundred quid so try that so your mum and your auntie

adding my mum! lol that may put down my insurance but by the end on the year the car will probably be 3" shorter than it should be. she is an awful driver and if she'd had found out she was a named driver she would be driving it all the time! gd idea tho. but the company im goin with only want to insure the owner of the car! sods law hits me again lol

add your girlfirend and tell them to put to down as your partner. when i was with norwich union it brought it down by £70, then my parents brought it down £15 each when they were added.
however, my current insurance wanted an extra £187 to add my girlfriend so i havn't bothered.

tell me about it. And when you try claim you have to pay excess. My corsa got broken into, just bent the door back lent in and opened the doors. Tried claiming on insurance, had to pay £300 excess befor i could do anything. I said bollox to that then, my dad fixed it with a bit of timber and bent the door back into place, as good as new. There scandolous, all of them

the thing with the 6 month policy and getting one years ncb, is that it will only be that insurance company that will accept the ncb everywhere else will class it as no ncb and just been driving for 6 months, your better off paying double for 12 months but at least then you will get 1 years full ncb where you can use with any insurance company and then it will drop more !

Mines £1400 on the VTR.
Been driving 2 years, have had a claim, my fault and 3 points for driving without due care :(
Would be loads cheaper if I'd not have had the accident!
