........ a few weeks ago on the VTR and there is still a fairly heavy grinding noise coming from what sounds like the rear discs, i also had the pads changed at the same time, now the grinding noise id pretty annoying, and wondered if it was because the pads were new at first, but now its not going away....... what could it be?? or what could i do to reslove it?

did you make sure u put the little metal slide in properly? is it only when you brake or what? is there anythin trapped in it?

yeah the "little metal thing" is in there, and its all the time, but i can only hear it when im driving slowly, its like a metal on metal grinding noise!?

could it be the back plate guard rubbing agains the disk?

abit liek the pic below the back plate can get bent easily and make it rub but more noticeable when slow. worth a check

oh and did you copper slip the sides of the pads that sit in the carrier so they dont stick adn not release enough

yes deffo copper slipped the sides of the pads! i'll have a look at the dust guard in the morning, and make sure its not bent! cheers Steve!

sticky caliper is unlikely but possible

Legend steve, gave the dust cover a bit of a bend away from the disc and it seems to have stopped, tried to splash out a bit of rep for you, but it says your being greedy and hogging it all again lol!
