I started a Policy with them after being told my renewal was going to be more expensive than them.
I then found out that that wasn't true so rang them back that night to cancel the policy. But by the time I got through they were closed.
So I rang back at 8am the following day to cancel the policy. I got through and asked them to cancel the policy. This was BEFORE the policy was supposed to start later that day. I was told that this was fine and that the policy had been cancelled, yet the money was still earmarked in my account to go out. I was told I would recieve my money back.
However yesterday the money was taken out of my account. So I rang up today to dispute this. Apparently the person should have told me that I needed to send my certificate (which I didn't recieve until today) back so that the policy could be cancelled!!
So now I'm seriously overdrawn, as my renewal had gone out as well.
I've been on the phone to them 3 times today!! Twice I was put on hold then cut off!!
Everyone I've spoken to has given me a different story!! I hope other people haven't had the problems I've had. Maybe its just me but the fact they didn't even tell me I'd need to send my Certificate in really annoys me.

When you do get through make that crystal clear to the 'manager'...
I work in a similar sort of environment to the people you are ringing, as soon as you get through make it clear you want the supervisor then if they dont do it the line manager etc etc till you get what you want. If you were mis-advised by one of the operators then you can get what you want!
Ashamed to say I part time work in an environment like that :(

I really don't wanna speak to them anymore! I'm gunna send my policy certificate (which I finally recieved!!) Back and try and get it sorted. The fact I gout cut off twice really narked me. I don't hold the actual people themselves responsible. Just the company as a whole!!
Ironic thing is I'm now with elephant who are the same company basically!!

every insurance company, bank, building society etc is regulated by the FSA. They are a kick ass company and they will beat the shit out of any company that is complained about.
i work for norwich union and people complain about us all the time and we have to give into every little demand they make!!
i guarantee you that if you call them up and ask to speak to the manager and say your going to the fsa with times of your calls who you spoke to what they said etc he or she will wet themselves!! :-)

Bell insurance are wankers, agreed.
I put my details in on the internet and it came up with a grand insurance for my VTS which was by far the best i'd found.
I rang up and they said they wouldn't insure me.
Then I questioned and said that I put all my details in etc etc, and they didn't give me a reason as to why i was told i could be insured and wasn't allowed.. just said they wouldn't insure someone under 21 on the car.
Bell eh? :homme:

i (well i say i) my mum and dad have been waiting since...Sept time ish for Norwich Union of the money from the crash i had, we have had someone come round to ask for a statement from me and what not but still no sign of any money from what ive heard. I have even had comp from the other company in Nov yet still fuck all from NU.....any idea on why this may be, even though the accident was not my fault!

I would imagine (i dont actually work for the Inusrance side) that they have probably off shored the department that wiould deal with your claim?! or simply they just dont wanna pay out. Never take a car insurance policy with the NU!! Complain to the FSA about it!

Not everyone will have good experiences with each insurance company, you have been unlucky by the sounds of it as I have only heard good things about bell.
