Guys,
I know I have touched on this subject before but I wanted to start a new thread to ask NEW questions and help me get a clearer picture before I get it fitted after Christmas.
I am using the guy from SSC and my Girlfriend is paying for the initial alarm, which is £235 so any extras that I want, I said I'll pay for.
I want the Glassbreak sensors fitting as I think that is a must have on a Saxo but I don't know what else to get.
Does the Interior Light stay on before you turn ignition on or does this need to be programmed?
What other sensors could be fitted?
Any help is much appreciated.

i wouldnt bother with the glass break sensors Luke, it comes with interior ultra sonics, if a brick or whatever goes through the window then its going to go off anyway.
"Does the Interior Light stay on before you turn ignition on or does this need to be programmed?"
Im sure it stayed on on mine, was on the vtr and im sure its just a feature of the alarm no programming necessary wiring should be done by installer.
"What other sensors could be fitted?"
Shit loads, tilt, proximity etc....
The only one i might have bothered with was the dual zone proximity as it was another warning to folk getting to near. I had the full closure window thing where it puts your windows up for you, great to show off with but pretty useless:P
Remember though and alarm is only a deterant, if someone wants in your car regardless or alarm, lack of locks, security tints they WILL get in. Get a cat 1, get the money off your insurance if applicable and thats it. Now need to do anymore really

Luke i got mine from MR Toad of SSC! The interior light comes on when you unlock the car and stays on until you turn the ignition on. I think glass break sensors are the best feature to have as this beeps and warns crooks away only if they are doing something to the car! I think it acts as a primary warning, i wish i had that instead of my dual proximity which serves a purpose of pi**in off the neighbours, which i think can sometimes lead to more damage!
The price should be £220 if i remember correctly then £40 for each sensor!

Thanks Scott, that information is much appreciated. I have now contacted Ian and he has given me a quote for it fitting...£215 to Saxo Site members.
I was actually thinking of getting the Window Closure, just so I can show off. Haha! It's true what you say about the Glass break sensors though, I don't think I'll bother with that.
I'll phone him up after christmas and see what he says about the sensors.
Thanks again.

I'm going to contact him again with the alarm I want and see what offer he can do me. As I am a member of this forum, he said I can have the alarm fitted for £215.

personally i'd save a few quid and wouldnt bother with the window closer thingy.
Crack showed me his and I'm sure he hasnt or wont actually need to use it for real. Its just a gimmick tbh. what you want is decent security not flashy extras.

What other sensors do you recommend then?
I don't want the proxmity one, because I heard the sensor sits behind the gearstick.
Barry123
24th December 2006, 10:45

I'll make sure of it.
It's about time I got an alarm fitted on it, especially with all the sound system that is now in it.

I know this is a slightly old thread, but I am getting the alarm fitted at 9.30 tomorrow morning - weather permitting though as he his coming to my work.
I am having the Toad Ai606 CAT 1 Alarm with the Dual Zone Proximity Sensor fitted, auto lock removed and I decided not to bother with the Glass break sensor.
It's costing me £260 for the lot, lifetime warranty and Insurance Certificate.

suppose if you start in get out and shut the door immediately but if you know its there you should avoid it:P
Used to be good for the cold morning or evenigns, could start the car, get out with the fob and lock it, leave it running while having breakfast/coming out of work and letting it heat up. SOmeone could awlays put a brick through the window, jump in the window dukes of hazards style and nick it. But couldnt be arsed doing that for a saxo

Well I have the alarm fitted and it's all good, I'm very impressed with it.
He turned up just after 10am and was finished by 12.30 - I have had the proximity fitted and even if I touched the car it beeps to warn me.

Luke

Just been outside playing with it, as I am like a BIG kid.
It has the feature like Cliffords. If you were to unlock the car, open the door but don't start it - the LED will turn from GREEN to RED after 60 seconds, so the immobiliser on the Alarm is activated again - when you start the car up, it fires but then sounds like the coil pack is gone and cuts out. I love it :D
Another thing aswell with the Proximity sensor is that if you even attempted to bend the door back, it starts bleeping away.

right luke, you have decided for me lol, I shall buy one end of the month and install it myself and do a guide provided it all goes to plan... Hmm altho was ment to be getting car lowered.... Ill buy it next month and install it with a guide, getting it lowered and a service is more important lol
Luke
18th January 2007, 22:56
Alarm is more important than any other mod mate, I wish I had got mine fitted earlier, but thanks to the Girlfriend - this alarm is my 19th birthday present.

18th January 2007, 23:03
