shouldnt an engine perform better in the cold anyway? (obv not the starting part)

i.e cold air beeing denser than warm air

Ruddy

Yeah theoretically, jus dont thrash your car when its first been started up! wait a few minutes.

of cousre!

if you thrash the engine as soon as you start it you can damage the oil seals as the oil need a little while to fill all of the oil galleries

20th December 2006, 14:46

Josh_T
20th December 2006, 15:05
Mine also starts everytime, leave it for 10 minutes before heading off and can easily scrape ice away.. :clapping:

Put it in your coolant and it stops it freezing which would be a bad thing for obvious reasons

Clouds_mate
20th December 2006, 15:42
yep none the wiser. Please explain. lol

jaybiss
20th December 2006, 15:44
you now your coolant mister leck

stick it in there and it stops it freezing

cause if it freezes it wont be able to go round the bay so your car wont have a workin rad :)

equals over heating

Mine starts ok in cold weather, just had it once that I turned the key for about 5 seconds and it did not start, then turned it again and it did, but that was ages ago. I find it starts quicker if the clutch is down. Ticks over highish when cold, about 1,100ish.
