Amp Wattage

Does it matter if my amp wire kit is less watts then my amp?

E.g. 1600 watt amp kit. 1800 amp

not unless you plan on using more than 1600w

You can't measure a wiring kit in 'watts'. You need to find out the rough current draw of the amp (what is it fused at?), post it on here and I'll tell you what size cable you need.
