Welcome to Sax-P btw.
AFAIK a strut brace is to help prevent "rolling".

Best way for me to explain it is if I was in the car with you. When you take corners or roundabouts you will feel your car lean to the side you're turning. This is to do with the suspension as well as the body rolling.
Better off an expert confirming this, however.

to prevent body roll you can get upper ones and lower ones but people usually just fit upper ones, ive just fitted one today actually:)

The brace clamps/bolts to the top if the suspention strut and as you rorner revents the struts flexing together or apart and so stiffening up the car so improveing handleing IMO. theya re pointless in basic modifying apart from just looks as we dont drive the cars hard enough to notice the effects but would prob aid if used on track days....but they do look cool
hope that helps and some one correct me if im wrong.

SunderZ, thanks for the input.
I'm guessing the suspension struts are what connects the suspension to the chassis and therefore by preventing the struts from moving it lowers the body roll?

well the top struts are just braced together with a bar (strut brace), therefore not allowing the shell to flex about

you can have a lower and upper brace together mate, lower brace will help a treat with the handling, upper is just mostly for looks!
