Hello all - i'm a newbie on this forum having recently bought myself a Y-reg VTS for the fine sum of £100, yep £100 with 60k miles and in reasonable condition....anyway, i digress...
I have an interesting electrical fault (2001 Saxo VTS): with the lights off, pressing the brake pedal activates the lights - with lights on, the brake lights are permanently on. I've checked the 5A fuse and all is ok - in fact, to drive round without blinding everyone with my brake lights, i've removed the fuse (it means driving without rear passenger side light and number plate lights, but is better than the alternative).
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

either a bulb incorrectly fitted or a bulb blown more than likley replace all the bulbs will cose you about £10-£15 it sounds like you getting back feed from possibly the brake bulbs
or wiring problem
try disconnecting the the clusters indervidually (SP)
left rear and put your foot see if the light come on
right rear
ect
ect

Thanks - but it's not actually the same problem. The brake lights function perfectly well with the lights off (i.e. when applying my foot to the brake).
I agree with the earthing suggestion.
