I have put on 195/45/15 Compomotive Sport alloys onto my Saxo 1.1i. I have not lowered it at all, so yes, at the moment it looks a little like a small off-roader...

However, there is rubbing on full lock. What can I do about this?

Also, I want it lowered, but don't have a lot of money, so can't afford any major rim modifications, so the back wheels won't be able to sit underneath the rim, if you know what I mean, so how can I work out how low I can go? Just measure top of wheel to rim and compensate a bit?

You'll have problems with the outside lip until you do something about it (i.e. cut it back/off). If you're having problems now, you're going to have major problems if and when you do lower it. The only option may be to have your arches rolled properly which will cost money but will also be worth it.

Btw, this thread may be better suited in the Brakes & Suspension section.
