Complaint about exhaust

This morning i got a letter from the council saying someone in my street had complained about the noise of my car, and me revving my car in the middle of the day.

Just wondered if anyone else had had this problem before.

you must have some bad neighbours mate never happened to me before and my 205 was very loud.

had a polite request from a neighbour when i first got my exhaust (it's very loud) which is fair enough. I just said i would be as quiet as possible coming and going. Reporting you to the council is a bit harsh tbh !

yeh whoever it is has now got a diary to record everytime i go in or out and the times of it. If they complin again sound monitoring equipment may be used. If i find out who it is i wudnt want to be them.

Find out who it is, when they leave there house in the car (after 11pm) stop in the middle of the road with them behind you, stay still untill they beep the horn. Then complain about them using there horn after 11 :P

My neigbours down my grandma's street are exactlly the same.. when i had my duel system on she came out and gave me abuse.. screaming and shouting.. i was like 'wtf'. Then my grandma of all people who is very old fashioned.. dosent swear etc came out the house and let hell loose at her. She just shut up and admitted defeat. Never had a complaint since. My grandma basiclly told this women how shit her life was...

1. Your husbands an alcoholic
2. Your that shit of a mother that your own daughter dosent want to see you
3. Your son is gay
4. Get a job

One of my neighbours doesn't moan about the noise of the car, only the quantity of them. When the ZS turned up, you could see him going a shade of white. "I am looking after it for 10 months while my friend is in Australia" I told him. You never know, he may decide to stay in Australia permanently! ;)

The police can do you for excessive noise coming from your exhaust. There are noise limits. Have a look at them. These limits are somewhat severly reduced after 11pm.

Tracks, circuits, etc... usually give a 100dB noise limit on exhausts.

I don't think my car would pass if it was tested it's very loud. but i am harldy ever out after 11pm so dont have a problem in that way. :drink:
