I was following my mate before, him in a golf gti turbo.. he went through a red light, (early hours of morning, nothing around) i didnt like the idea so i waited, after about 10sec's the lights changed so i let my clutch out pretty fast to try to catch up with my mate as quick as i could, as i didnt know where i was or where we were going.

so i let the cluth out, and i got thrown forward really violently as if i had stalled but worse.... yet when i went to start my engine again, it was still on....as if i hadnt stalled.....

cant get my head around what happend....or what it could have been...

i had my music on very loud so i could hear engine noise or anything but i cant get my head round at all what happend.... any help.... anyone?

maybe it was going to stall, because you let your clutch off too quickly, but then you may have put it back down soon enough for the engine not to cut out..

maybye as you tried to dump the clutch really quick its popped back out of gear ?? that would explain why it jerked so much and why then engine was still running....

no, i didnt know where i was or where i was going, i had to keep up or i would be lost, in an area i dont know too well.

my mate later got caught speeding in the gti, he got let off tho... i was in the gti when this happend. i could have been a complete cock and gone through the red light like him, but didnt like the idea.

you probley put the clutch down as soon as you felt it about to stall and just managed to save it from stalling

Sounds like it poped out of gear like dave said, would explaine the jumping forward and not stalling it.
