Just curbed one of my Compomotive alloys. Can't afford refurb or anything! How many of you would put up with one curbing? Or is it instant embarassment lol! The wheels are white so it's quite noticeable...

I was wondering if it was possible to minimise the visibility of it, by maybe painting the exposed area (like would use a touch-up pen on bodywork). How could I get this to work the best? It's not the scratches as such that I'm upset about, it's the fact the paint has come off with them. Any help appreciated!

gutted mate.

only way i can think of to hide the kerubage would be to smoothe the area. like sanding it or sumeat :)

I remember my dad used to have a white Mazda 323F with white alloys that had been badly kerbed (when bought), and had been attempted to be touched up, but the colour was off. I was hoping they'd be a good way, oh well. Really pissed me off, happened coz I parked too close to the kerb, so scraped it while moving off :(

Come to think of it, that's probably what was used on the 323!

adsayer, I would like to smooth it, but a little concerned about taking more of the paint off (I've never done anything like this before). Is there anything I can do to protect the surround paint?

how bad is it mateyboy?!

for instance... ive seen where you have krubing and little grovves... its better just to smooth out the grroves :)

not realy mate-as you might not be able to sand it if you are scared to flake the paint, and you WILL most probably have to respray the whole alloy as you will have a dip were the paint was**
and filling the dip will crack later down the line

It's hard to say how bad... I've had newly fitted tyres, so there's black rubber round the rim and they're a bit dirty, so the true extent of the bad effect is masked somewhat. I was looking forward to cleaning them with a kit I'm getting tomorrow too he he, as well as re-stickering them.. and now this has happened!
