i had my sub and amp in my old car with a sony head unit, the head unit had a wire that i connected my remote cable to, and it worked perfectly fine
i have now got a new car, and different head unit, theres nowhere to connect the remote cable to? there is a blue cable though on the iso, so i barred the wires back a little and connected the remote wire to it, but still no power on the amp. checked the incomming power and thats fine :S
help me out

There are two blue wires coming into the head unit ISO block, the thicker blue one is the one you connect the remote cable too mate.
And if you havent yet you might want to put some money away for the day when the gearbox, clutch and head gasket go. My mates on his fourth box on his punto sporting lol

should there be a wiring hardness then?
theres two iso connections that are standard on the car and they are plugged straight into the back of the head unit?

The bottom ISO which has 4 cables goin into it on a saxo and prob on yours too, that has two blue wires, ones a lot larger as its the power signal wire and then you cut the sheath off there, tbh using your teeth is easiest cause you dont cut the wire in two, then wrap the remote cable round it, wrap it in insulation tape and jobs a good un

yeah, theres a blue cable in the bottom iso..
i cut the plastic away carefully and wrapped my remote cable round it, there is only one blue wire, but it still didnt work?
if i didnt have a good enough ground i guess i wouldnt get power also?

Hmm maybe its not a blue on then, basically one will be a fair bit bigger than the others, this is the one you want. And no the ground would make the sound quality shite mate, would cut out or something but it would come on i would think? May be wrong so check it, sandpaper it down some more re drill the holes etc cant hurt.

yeah, the blue wire i used was quite thin...
there is a thick black wire that runs next to an earth wire, but i have permanent voltage to my cd player, is this the wire i should use?
if i used it would it drain my battery?
im quite confussed now so any help would be much apreciated
thx dave

Yeah that would be it I should think mate. And it wont steal current from the Head Unit, just draw more from the battery but wont take much as it doesnt actually power the amp obviously just tells it when to turn on. The widest cable is the one you use mate so wack the cable on imo thats what ive done twice, although obviously wait for someone elses opinion if ya like. Good luck with it

is the iso plug on the cars wiring if so you wont have a remote wire in the cars wiring so you will have to push the wire into the iso plug. use a volt meter to test it as if you get it wrong you could fcuk the radio.

all i did with all my old jvc radio is looked for the blue remote wire on the loom, (or blue and white) cut it, joined the wire to the amp to it, re joined it all and insulated it,
