Can someone tell me what port stealthing is and should I keep it on??

I just turned it off norton security becuase if I keep it on I cant access a netowork from my computer at home to my work pc.

IIRC its somthing about hiding your ports from h4x()Rzzzzz. And/or saying one port is another port if you get me, for example port 1 = port 59392???

Open ports will accept connections

Closed ports will refuse connections + send back a message saying the port is not accepting connections

Stealth ports will refuse connections but not send any errors back, so it will be as though it doesn't exist.
