I've currently got a Auto Acoustics box, as I want my install to be subtle and tucked away.

I also have a Alpine 12" Type R sub to go in it.

The problem is, me being an arse didn't check the size of the sub or the box, to check if it would all fit. Funnily enough, it doesn't. The arse on the sub is about 18mm too thick for the box.

Don't know whether to cut a whole in the back of the box for the arse of the sub to poke out of. Or just get an MDF ring for the sub to sit on, so I can keep the box.

I prefer the MDF ring idea better, but not sure of anywhere to get the rings from. Just wondering if any of you guys know of a place at all that sells them?

Cheers, Dave.

i had the same problem with the pioneer subs and i just cut 2 mdf rings, pulled up the carpet from round the box (round where the sub goes in) then srewed the rings to the box then with a heavy duty stapler fixed the carpet back down to the box and put the sub in.
