I think the lowering is spot on in my eyes, don't like Saxos that are lowered too much.

Could be alittle low but I hear what your saying Im lookin to lower mine soon lookin at 35mm no lower as go loads of speed bumps round my area plus me and my girlfriend do alot of driving at weekend. She already reckons its much firmer than her 'new' micra (Der, of course) but shes got a fair point.

just a little update. got the faulkner 45mm springs and bilstien b8's off kams site and fitted them to the car, and looks better and handles better too. also went to abp and had the modded track rod arm fitted to avoid the power steering pipe. i did bend the pipe before but it didn't work well, so did this to help lessen the damage to the pipe.

ok, just another little update. had im axles fit their oillite axle as the one i had originally had play in the drivers side bearing. they did a great job. looking at getting new wishbones and top mounts to freshen the front suspension up. also fitted red stuff pads to the gti180 calipers as the mintex ones squealed very loudly and was annoying, but it was also a good "early warning system" when i approached any junction.

vtcarl
25th February 2011, 22:11
Today one of the front springs snapped. Luckily I was pulling off my drive when it gave way. But had a chat with the peeps at kam racing and decided on the eibach sportline springs, I just hope they lower the same amount as the faulkner ones I have at the mo. Dam car.....

not much to report on the car other than i found the rad was leaking so i had to hunt for a new rad. so after some questions to a mate who sugested a company based in wolverhampton, i called them up and ordered a nissens rad and new belts. getting new coolant from bm along with distilled water. just got to work out how to remove the dreaded "viscous" fan so i can remove the rad. oh the bloody joys of car ownership!!

heres a few pics ive done today after a little clean. also had done the rad/water pump/thermostat/thermostat housing/2 beltsand new coolant. now have a m3 mesh to put on in the bumpers mouth. body needs a little tidying, but for a 13 year old car its not too bad. im not going to do a lot to this as i just want it to look standard. but maintaning it will be the priority for me.

the m3 mesh was fitted last year as the origianal was missing when i got the car.
the rear discs/pads and handbrake shoes were done at the start of the year and the autobox oil and filter done last month. all done at a bm specialist.
the cd changer was fitted in novembervlast year, a quick purchase from ebay and an hours fitting and i now have the option of listening to my cds.
