wont damage it at all.
i had to drive mine 15mile when it snapped and fell of from the front off the cat, that was really fooking loud.
but a cop mite pull you for it, you will get a thing that states you have to get it fixed within 7days and get it stamped at an mot station to say its been repaired before the 7days are up.

stevey -
think the exhausts come in 3 sections?
cat section, middle section and rear section. they just slide fit together, bit of exhaust putty when you slide them together then an exhaust U style clamp.
you got a standard or uprated exhaust?
you can get standard sections cheap for euro car parts or car accessory stores.
pritty easy job to sort :)

Wont damage anything. If you are away from your house then just drive it home. If you get pulled over you will have the box to prove it snapped off. They will just tell you to get it sorted and possibly follow you home. Dont start driving it without a backbox if you already have it home, get it fixed. The police seem to enjoy dealing out small fines and three points here and there and it is not worth it. Wont cost a lot to get done.

it wont damage your engine, why dont you just put it back on??
it is illegal and it will be louder. it wont be faster on accelleration but could be a little quicker top end when your on the motorway or doing over 80mph as there is least restriction on the exhaust fumes
