Add a parent to the policy, that can sometimes help. Limit the mileage. Don't do any mods lol.

Also, if you have a garage use it, the amount of people who have £5K cars sitting on the road with £30 worth of boxes and rubbish piled up in their garage lol. Investing in a good alarm and imobiliser, even a tracker would help and would put you in piece of mind also as it is an old car meaning it is probs easy to break into it and steal!

The thing to rememeber is it is a performance car, for the era it would have probabley been considered one of the most sought after for thefts so insurance premiums would have been inreased due to this, unfortunately i don't think they have reviewed any insurance groups and the like for older cars! Best bet is to just continue your search for good insurance lol. Possibly try the Insurance Factory, my mate is in the same boat on a Sierra Saphire Cosworth, i think he pays around £1500 at 20 with 2 years no claims which isn't too bad :)

Hope this helps :y:

A lot of insurance companies will not insure a driver on a turbo until they're 21.

i had a 180bhp punto gt turbo when i was 19, i had 0 ncb but had been driving for two years, it was £419 fully comp under my name and there insurance group 14 which is the same as the rennie 5 turbos so i would have thought u should be able to get insured
