hiya i have tryed tryed to back to black the trim around the sunroof and it seem to just soak the back to black up and leave the trim look tatty and patchy!!!
any advice on the blacking of this tirm of the sunroof???

I think the generally done thang with them is to paint them again mate if they get so bad, mines the same got to do it sometime. Baz dit it on his old one and made a thread about it Ill try n dig it up

I've got this problem on mine, i won't be spraying it though... bit risky if your doing it yourself in my opinion. Even Baz said he messed his up a little bit if i remember correctlly. Take it to a bodyshop and get them to spray/laquer it... they won't charge much... The amount of money you spend on tin spray etc you could have had it done by a pro anyway.

as yours is a Mark 1 Marc im guessing the trim won't actually be plastic and will be metal like on my other one? best bet is to get someone to paint it for you. normal paint will flake off though, i had to use some special kind of laquer and paint, though i can't remember what it was called. I'll have a look to see if i can find the tins.
was advised to use the special paint due to it being metal, my grandad used to use it on canal boats.

Shoe polish the liquid stuff lasts for weeks aswell as its waterproof

Got this stuff from my dad from like 1970, works great- beter than back to black and the rest of them
