As you know when you pass your test you give them your provisinal and you get your full. I recently lost my lisence for speeding and have to do it all again. I just found an old provisinal which i lost ages ago, but my middle name has changed since then... i dont think that will matter though.


Can i use this old provisinal to do my theory without sending off for another provisinal?? I dont see why not as i paid for it etc.... hmm

Anyone know?

technically you'll be off the records on the DVLA. so you'll still have to apply for a provisional dude.

If you were to use it for anything I think I'd would be considered fraud too.

So you have two licences but with different names (in theory). That comes under fraud does it not?

Yeh was just wondering, hence asking... i dont mind paying at all, but i thought if i dont need to pay whats the point. If its not legal i wont do it obviosly. I dont see how its fraud though??? i mean, if i hadnt lost that first provisinal, i would of still had my name changed and still had that provisinal. i would of just had to inform the dvla or something...

If ANY of your personal details change, then you are to notify the DVLA in which case you have and that is the missing licence. You are now not registered under your old name so that would be classed as fraud and illegal. You are trying to be somebody you're not.

I think you get a new driving license number or a new issue number when you apply for a new one. You won't be able to book with your old one
