eat properly

cut out snacks like crisps and chocolate bars etc and replace them with fruit

you basically want to burn more calories than you take in

i dont know if you drive everywhere but try walking more, maybe dust the bike off if you have one and cycle

I hate jogging to be honest. which is why it helps to grab someone in a similar position and force them to jog with you. I find it keeps you going. Me and lad from uni started back in september. did 1 lap of the perimeter (10mins) and collapsed at the end of it. by the end of december we had completed 6 laps per session.

I prefer cycling though

if you do what you said, stop drinking, eat better.. that alone will make the lbs drop off. wouldnt try to do too much (its no race) as this can put people off. Just eat better and quit drinking n do a bit of cardio when u can be bothered, as the lbs drop off this will inspire u and before you know it you will enjoy jogging.

When I was dieting I eat smaller portions, and cut out all the crap, drank loads of water and I lost over a stone in 3 weeks, thats without exercising.

Im starting again soon but also going to the gym so I should loose my target of 3 stone in about 4 or 5 months.

LMBO!!

From expeirnece, i started jogging as I had to. I got a place in the marathon and wanted to do it, but hated running. Just start small and build up the distance. Just remember anything after 12mins running is cardiovascular and you are in the 'fat buring zone'. Just keep the pace steady to start with and you will find it ok.

3 stone in 4 to 5 months is a big goal Dan. But it is possible. Rather than setting a time frame just set a target weight. As ultimately the most important thing to do is to the lose the weight, doesnt really matter how long it takes.

Rather than cutting all the crap out just do it in moderation. Rather than a choclate bar every day, just every couple of days. If you cut it out completely straight away you will crave it and then will relapse.

Look at the food you are eating, and see if it can be changed. You need to eat a good healthy balanced diet. This means curries should be eaten less often. A healthy meal would be a portion or carbs (rice (brown rice is better than white), vegtable (you need the vitamins and minerals), and protein (if you have a stake or pork chop etc then cut the fat off and don't eat it, its fat so that means you body will just store it as fat).

When it comes to drinking, lets be honest, how long are you actually going to stay off the beer for! When I go to the pub and I'm not drinking I crave a beer. Rather than trying to cut drinking out completely drink more sensibly for weight loss. Alcohol is classed as a food, as it contains calories, this is why you get a beer belly. Each pint is 200calories. Therefore rather than cutting out the alcohol change what you drink, lay off the beer a bit and go towards the vodka and lemonade, or jd and coke, as there are less calories in these.

I dont drink Mike so alcohol isnt a problem for me, I know 4-5 months is a hard target but was just a rough estimate and something to work towards.

seems sensible enough to me. I've gotta say that that is mega impressive losing a stone in 3 weeks just through change of diet dude. Goes to show how little physical effort is required.

best of luck.

i only used to drink on special ocasions like birthdays and thats about i even used togo to pub a few nights a week and drink coke or j20 as i wasnt really bothered about drinking then i just started drinking alchol again and instead

i dont think its the food i eat as i hardley eat takeaway or crisps and choclate

i just eat big portions of whatever my mams cooking

lol at 12 mins at jogging im lucky if i get to stop of street in one peace

You will find that initially weight loss is fast, and then it slows down and takes longer to the lose the weight, but you will feel alot better for it.

The more you lose the better you will feel and the more motivation you get to carry on losing weight.

Just start small with the jogging and then build up, this includes both distance, time and speed at which you jog at.

Makes a change seeing a post from you in here!!!

On a serious note; If you're going to diet don't completely cut something out. I cut out sugar completely when I started dieting and by the end of the first week I felt so ill. I really should have replaced with sweetener.

I also cut out bread and now when I eat it I get bad stomach cramps.

If you eat healthily, then little and often will help because you'll not feel the need to eat bigger portions.

And remember when you crave McDonalds (and I know you will fatty) eat some fruit!!!

Good Luck

to be honest i think its already been said, but best thing to do is go to the gym with a mate and because of male pride ul end up pushing each other subconciously. thats what i did an i ended up beein quite a decent weight an was fair thin an muscly lol but then started drinkin all time an fucked gym off so my nyrs resoloutioin is to get back in to it as well.

Yeah I found the first month the weight dropped off but then slowed down, but I wasnt going to the gym so with me starting to go I should hopefully see a better loss.

I'm going to do mostly cardio and a few weights for my arms, then build up.

a lass who sits next to me at work, just did some daft diet.... a detox or something

she ate only fruit and veg and drank only water for 4 weeks.

she said she felt so much better after it, i dont know if it'll help much with the weight loss (should do tho i imagine) but she said she felt healthier and stuff, i dont know just an idea for you tho
