My steering isn't working 100%. I'm sure its summet to do with my cv joint. when driving forward there's no problem, but 7/10 when i turn a corner there is clunky sound coming from the front of the car! it happens at a certian point turning right and left, but srangly my PAS is working fine and my steering wheel doesn't vibrate at all :panic: Can somebody help me out on what could be the problem? Thx :y:

Do you think it could be this...

If not, is the clunking noise felt through the steering wheel when turning full lock? If so, then it could be down to your steering rack. Sometimes the ball joints in the middle of the rack become worn or loosen up causing it to clunk when turning the steering wheel. If there's no play in the steering wheel, then you'll be fine. However, if there is play, then it's better to have it checked out asap. It would also result in an MOT failure.

Im planning on having it checked out soon, the noise is doing my head in. the steering is all gravy except the noise, it seems stable. the noise happens not far away from straight position, full lock seems ok. just hope what ever is wrong it aint gonna cost loads. got to go to budapest for my mates stag do in feb and need all my money for 'entertainers' ;) if you not what I mean lol. thx for the reply mate, appreciate it :y:
