sorry for the delay, i'm at work & it's a bit of a mare of a week! no not got ebay chip but i have heard about them! not good for the engine i think. i will get some pics of my little she beastie, she's nothing special but i love her to bits, i'm trying to find out about any fairly well priced engine/performance mods i can get, i've had my car about 3 years now it's the mk2. I've got an induction kit & new exhaust but was wondering if it's worth getting the racing chip to upgrade to a vts speed, hope i don't sound too stupid.

don't buy those ebay resistor things. and no a 'racing' chip is as gay as it sounds.

Dont bother with chips! there just pre programmed, get it remapped with a nice set of cams,k prob ost you around £600. by gettin it remaped the programming will match your car not just some test car they used on the first remap they did! you should be able to keep up with a vts then! its not worth putting a vts engine in, cause people just cant find the money to insiure the engine! unless you put in without telling the insurance! (not advised) then youll be a vts!
