could of been the clutch failing then, best bet would be to take off the gearbox and have a look
does it go into gears when the engines switched off?

i got a box for 130 and clutch kit for 60, labour was 40
just having problems with the clutch, think it was faulty so my mechanic gonna do it for free
there is a really good website where you give you car details, phone number and the part you need...
within minutes different breakers call you with quotes and or email them to you
its really convenient with next day del. i got my box delivered today

is your clutch pedal flat to the floor?
sometimes its just the thrust/release bearing that goes, this causes the pedal to sit on the floor.
may also be the gearbox, never had a one go on me so i dont know what happens.
had a thrust bearing go on me tho, that went pop and the clutch pedal just sat on the floor lol
gearbox is a bit fiddly to do, but if you have the time and the gear, it worth doing to learn more about the car etc :)
hope you get it sorted mate

giving it some beans???
try this to see if its you box or clutch part
dont start the car as you dont have a clutch to do the following:
first see if you can select all gears when the engine is not running
then put it in 1st
and release the handbrake, if you get braking from the box, then that means you pressure plate and clutch are catching and are not faulty, if theres slack in the clutch pedal, and it hangs low, and doest feel springy (soz for vague explantaion) then its defo your release bearing as they take a lot of pressure inside
hope you get it sorted, either way your gonna have to open her up

could it be the gearbox linkage? i had one one of my linkages come apart because of a loose nut. if it is this it wont cost much to fix at all. u cud do it urself. has the clutch changed in any way?
