I've just done some quotes on admiral for 1999 vts worth £3000.

The first quote i did was all my details but with the saxo as a standard vts from the drop down list, and my job as supermarket manager. = £1851

Next quote i change it to the vts (16v) in the drop down list and my occupation the same and it goes down to £1742

Next quote i change it to the vts (16v) in the drop down list and my occupation to supermarket assistant and it goes down to £1522!!

Wtf is going on! How can they justify a £300 saving for an occupation?? And what are the implications of having ur occupation different from what you actually do?

managers must drive worse than assistants :P
they base it on risk and i think they push the price up on better jobs too because they can..

Your occupation does have quite a lot to do with it.

For example, just think... who'd cover more miles. A salesman or a supermaket worker?

A manager is more likely to cover more miles than an assistant... Kind of common sense.

When i was working it worked out more expensive to insure me as a Aerospace Engineer than a Student.

So I chose Student.

Personally I would have thought it would have been the otherway round...
