My mate has a mk1 vts cat (from his mk1 vts) sitting in his garage for when he needs it for MOT, will it fit my mk2 vts?

I had one but had no where to plug the lamda sensor so ditched it for a mk1 which is what car I have despite having a mk2 engine.
Hope that helps and Paul will you fuck off ;)

it will fit mate vts cat length never changed between mk1 and mk2. you can just cut the lambda sensor off and extend it with some wire, solder it together and wrap it with tape if you need to extend. i extended the one on my vtr and it was fine :)

should do mate, try it.
im sure the mk2 vts has 2 lambda sensors and the mk1 has 1. see if his cat has a hole for the sensor in it or not? if not you could fit it anyway and place the sensor that would go in your cat, into a bag, tape it up out of the way with tape or cable ties.
see what the car feels like. will probs still pass an mot with the one sensor in it, wont fail because the engine management light is on, thats prob the only thing that will happen.
dont tell the mot tester, he probs wont notice :)
or get a new one from euro car parts, think the are £70ish quid, will last for ever tho if you are just taking it on and off for mot time.

Is the engine management light still on?
If the management light is on will that fail mot?
